Breeding conditions:
|
| Inhabited dens of Arctic Foxes were not discovered, and Snowy Owls were not seen. One nesting pair of Peregrine Falcons and one pair of Rough-legged Buzzards were recorded per 320 km of the middle and lower reaches of the Dudypta River from 2-15 August. Herring Gulls and skuas wandered in tundra. Weather conditions during reproduction were favourable for breeding of waders, passerines, divers and some other waterfowl species. However, numbers of waterfowl on the river were clearly lower than normal, due to permanent disturbance by humans which camps are spaced at 15-20 km along the river. 6 broods of White-fronted Geese were seen farther upstream, and geologists visiting upper reaches of the Dudypta River confirmed substantially higher numbers of moutling geese and goose broods there. 4 White-billed Divers were seen in the middle reaches which is indicative of relatively high abundance of this species.
